As there are a few Shackletons out there, let’s clarify this right away: we’re talking about the English maverick and psychedelic ritual trance maestro here! He first emerged from the early 2000s UK Bass scene - the same crucible that forged dubstep and grime, whose rhythmic intensity and hypnotic basslines would later seep into his own distinctive sound.

Two decades later, he stands as one of the most singular and revered figures of this sonic aesthetic, continuing to draw new devotees into his orbit across the world. Founder of Skull Disco and Woe To The Septic Heart, he has also released music on none other than Rough Trade, Perlon, Fabric and Honest Jon’s.

Shackleton has collaborated with Appleblim, Pinch, Scotch Rolex, Holy Tongue and Wacław Zimpel amongst others, each encounter offering a deep and mystical experience. His productions and live acts move seamlessly between vaporous dark ambient, hallucinated low-end mantras, razor-sharp bass-drops, cathartic psychedelia and industrial dubstep, all fused into the wide sea of non-western inspirations.
