NAP
Trying to pin down NAP in just a few lines is a risky exercise, one bound to fall short. Born in Colombia, raised in Mexico, then thrown into Vancouver’s DIY scene just in time for his teenage years and now touring worldwide, Daniel Rincón has made a habit of staying elusive.
The same goes for his music. Some know him for his cult “Sad Cowboys and the Sound Of” mix trilogy for Editorial Magazine (one opus even got selected as one of the best mixes of the last 25 years by RA); others for his finely curated ISLA label, his duo projects Ambien Baby (with D. Tiffany) and La Fe (with Michael Red), or his constantly evolving solo productions, DJ sets and radio shows - all resonating widely online.
Always shifting, always in motion, NAP’s world is one of open-ended dancefloor possibilities.
From the main stage to the chill-out and in between, he slips effortlessly between genres and aesthetics. Raptor house and latincore mutations, tech house or breakbeat that flirt with rave and acid, post-punk impulses, psychedelic rock detours, vaporous dubs and upbeat balearic folklore... Daniel Rincon has lived in a hundred different worlds, and he has built a utopia in each of them.
