Judaah
Among the many faces that have populated the French electronic scene over the past decade, Judaah stands apart through a rare combination of generosity, taste and long-game vision.
He first established himself as the godfather of the mid-2010s Lyon underground’s renewal with his label Brothers From Different Mothers, sweeping the status quo of the house and techno world with a huge dose of breaks, humor, irony and a strong sense of collective identity. Surrounded by a tight-knit circle including The Pilotwings, J-Zbel, OKO DJ, Simo Cell, Basses Terres and others, BFDM helped redraw the map of the French scene, its influence quickly travelling well beyond local borders.
Over time, Judaah gravitated back toward a more elemental pull: a deep devotion to dancehall, dub and roots reggae, anchored in a formidable 7” vinyl collection. This shift gave rise to another label with HSS, alongside the IKSE soundsystem and the So Ruff, So Tuff parties in Marseille. A friend for ten years, a devoted vinyl digger whose selections always leave a mark wherever he plays (ask anyone who attended LOST festival 2024 about his performance and you’ll be greeted with starry-eyes)… It felt self-evident that the festival’s first chapter would be written with his name set down on paper.
